How to Setup Google Workspace email in outlook
To set up your G Suite (Google Workspace) email in Outlook, you can follow these steps:
1. Enable IMAP in Gmail
- Login to Gmail:
- Go to mail.google.com and sign in.
- Go to Settings:
- In the top right, click the gear icon and select See all settings.
- Enable IMAP:
- Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- Under IMAP Access, select Enable IMAP.
- Click Save Changes.
2. Set Up G Suite Email in Outlook
Outlook (Newer Versions)
- Open Outlook:
- Go to File > Add Account.
- Enter Email Address:
- Enter your G Suite email address and click Connect.
- Select Account Type:
- Choose IMAP.
- IMAP Server Settings:
- Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.gmail.com
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 465 or 587
- Encryption: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS
- Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.gmail.com
- Enter Login Information:
- Username: Full G Suite email address.
- Password: Your G Suite password.
- Google Authentication:
- If 2-step Verification is enabled on your Google account, you will be prompted to authenticate via the Google window.
- If your organization uses an app password, you may need to generate one via the Google account security page.
- Complete Setup:
- After verifying the details, click Next to finish the setup.
Once you’ve completed these steps, Outlook should sync with your G Suite (Google Workspace) account, and your emails will start to load.
